Supporting Art in Schools

Civilization is a lot of work, and our public schools do more than their fair share. It is great to see the successful opening of an art exhibit based on work done within a local school district. This will be showing at the Berkeley Arts Center through March.

In addition to the artwork, celebrating the mayor’s birthday with a bunch of very talented young artists was icing on the cake. Hopefully the slide show below will get across a little of the creative energy and fun that I felt from the students, teachers, parents and administrators.

These types of events are an important reminder that both our tax  dollars and the personal efforts we put into education make a difference. In 30 years, the kids of today will be our decision makers, our movers and shakers. Let’s help to make sure they are prepared with a complete and well-rounded education.
